Acoustic - 2013 winter

This magazine is the Acoustic Winter 2013 edition. In the magazine, there are around about 115 pages,  with an average of around 6-7 pages between each main article. This illustrates how professional the magazine is, as it suggests a lot of content in each of this articles. I liked the main article, of which is in a square black box because it contrasts with the background which directs your attention towards it, this further makes it appear bolder and makes it the first piece of information you notice. I  believe the small spacing between the images creates significance between each and creates a layout across the contents. I also liked the images at hand, which were very intriguing and seemed to create a story which made the contents  productive and unique. However, I disliked the fact that the contents writing itself isn't in order, it goes against convention but makes the contents page much harder to read, compared to the Q magazine which is very organized and professional. I also liked the page numbers in the left hand corner of each image as it creates formality within the contents. I am looking to do something like this within my magazine, as i feel it would really appeal to my target audience. I also liked the fact that the contents are in columns which further gave the magazine formality as well as connoting quality quality to the reader. In this magazine i disliked the masthead of the magazine, this is a reason of being misleading and unidentifiable. However, I do like the bold heading for the contents as I like the font which it is written in. I also quite like the sizing of the font as i think that it is fairly easy to read- this is aided by the actual font itself as the font that it is written in is easy to read. The semiotics of this contents page are the colouring (light blues, white) schemes used to enhance; images and page numbers which creates an easygoing feel to the magazine.


Thoughts
I like the use of the blue within the contents page as i think that it creates a soothing, sedative feel. I further liked the lighting used in the images as it shows the images more and makes them look better on the whole. \it also tended them to link between one another quite nicely which i really liked. I particularly like the formality of the;  images, column are placed, this is because it makes the contents page look more sleek and professional, which makes the magazine more desirable for that certain target audience.

I don't like the numbers on the contents page which were confusing and somewhat hard to follow. I also disliked some of the fonts that the contents page used.
