Research on double page spreads

I found that most of the double page spreads that I looked at featured one image, I do not want to follow this convention in my work, this is because I feel having alot of small scattered images would make it look much more dynamic while being more visually pleasing. I also found that this would appealed more to my target audience, this is because most teenagers skim read and many images would aid to this, particularly if it has a quote or a bold title on it. Although I do feel that i will have one large, direct image on the left of DPS like in this magazine, i feel this because it will have a further effect on my audience.
